1920's Conn ' Pan American' C-Melody Sax, lacquer finish

This beautiful C-Melody saxophone was made by Conn in the USA in the 1920's,  serial number 41362.  It is in the relatively rare vintage lacquer finish, with some patina and redness in places.   No major damage, dents or repairs that I can see, except  for a couple of small dints on side of the bell ( shown below, in pictures 5 and 7 ), and all keys move freely.   Ideal for collectors and/or sax players looking for 'something different'  - and no transposing.....  On the back it reads (after patent info)  C   41362  (and)  L (low pitch)    The instrument is (modern standard)  A=440, and will be in tune with all modern instruments. The sax will require a little attention to some pads and cork to become playable again.

If you already play tenor you will probably be able to use your favourite tenor mouthpiece on it.  I use Lawton, Selmer, Otto Link, and Berg Larsen tenor mouthpieces on my C-Melodies with great success - and also some alto mouthpieces - to produce a great modern sound.  Always happy to advise on choice of mouthpiece, or indeed any other aspects of C-Mels. I regularly contribute to C-Melody internet forums..
