IS A TIE-IN WITH THE NEXT GENERATION COCK, AS ELIZABETH ANN
COCK WAS NOT AT HOME WITH HER (?) FAMILY FOR THE 1861 CENSUS,
BUT NICHOLAS WAS Note that Nicholas Cock was born in St. Ive,
not Cambourne, so did the Cock family move from Cambourne to
St. Ive some time after the birth of Elizabeth ? I was only
looking for Joseph Thomas and family in the Census. Also note
that on the same Census page there is a wide difference in the
ages of the Copper Miners e.g.Nicholas Cock aged 15
Copper Miner Festus Sleeman aged 60 Copper Miner and
his son Francis Sleeman aged 26 Copper Miner James
Martini aged 50 Copper Miner , and his children
Louisa Martini aged 14 Copper Mine Worker, William
Martini aged 12 Copper Mine WorkerThe eldest age of any
'Scholar's' was shown as 'Age of 10'. ALSO: (Josephs
Children) Harriet liked her 'tipple', could only see Caroline
when W H Earl was away. Mabel married Sam CAPON. Had two
children, Daisy and Fred (aka Sam Jnr.). Gran (mine) THOMPSON
always reckoned Fred (Sam jnr.) CAPON was a bit of a scrounger,
used to say 'lock the door and keep quiet!' when Sam came to
the house (or tried to!). Grace and Mabel were quite upright,
not said to be drinkers like Harriet. Frederick (bn aft 1881)
married a widow (LUXTON), took on her 3 (Gwen Bert and Charlie)
plus she had one girl, by Frederick, caled Mabel. [END]
