C-Melody Saxophones

The C-Melody saxophones listed below should be considered as'projects' - but in the course of time I'll obviously try to get them all up to at least 'just playable' standard  - so that some idea of the sound potential can be heard.  All are 'LP' / A=440, which means they will play in tune with modern instruments.  I'm open to sensible offers, and will ship to most parts of the world - I'm based in England / UK.  For any general questions about C-Melody Saxophones, go to my  Question and Answer  page, or the  Model info  page.

I have a couple of 'straight-neck' Conn C Melody saxophones available, one in silver plate, the other nickel plated.   Both with micro-tuner necks, the nickel one is a bit more of a project than the silver one... Martin silver-plate  C Melody saxophone, VERY patinated, but, from the unworn strap ring, probably not had a lot of use. A couple of palm keys (D, Eb) are from a Martin stencil, need fitting.  Detailed pictures and more info available shortly. Martin 'Home' model >> bare brass, relatively rare, 1930's C-Melody saxophone.  It has fewer keys than a normal saxophone, and was aimed at begibnners..   Pads have been replaced at some time in the past, but needs a little setting up - just about playable condition. Guide price  £125  as-is

Naujoks Mclaughlin ebonite with inlaid metal (possibly silver) table.  Beautiful player, fluid.	Markings have faded away, but same as another one I've had, and with steel shank ring.  #2 facing
(Conn) Pan-American 'A' - ebonite .	A C-Mel mpc, although marked 'A' - Conn had a range of these.

Berg Larsen  105 - 1 SMS - stainless steel	'Slimline' model - bullet baffle
Berg Larsen  100 - 2 M - stainless steel	Older model  - step baffle, offset engraving
Lawton 8*BB - gold plated, 'as supplied' with stainless steel ligature and cap. In original box.	Bought by me in the 60's, new, from Lewington's in London.   The Lawton 8*BB is NOW available for sale - check out the pictures - click here !  I've no qualms about asking £295 for this beauty, that's 295 GBP, ( roughly US$460 or 357 Euros at Aug-2010 exchange rate ) shipping/insurance extra but 'at cost'.  I'll send it anywhere in the free world...

Lawton 7*B, gold plated, original lig - pictures coming	Has neatly filled 'pickup hole' on mouthpiece side, does not affect playability in any way.  May also have been replated, as the engraving isn't as sharp as on my 'original' 8*BB.

Lawton 8BB ebonite, original lig / cap - pictures coming...	Wide expressive sound, plenty of edge (if needed) - it's a 'BB' - but a wider, fuller, sound than the metal Lawtons.  Really flexible player, useful for wide range of styles.  Sad to see it go, but I'm happy with my Coufs.

Otto Link ' Tone Edge ' 7 - Florida          - ( not slant sig)	Also bought by me in the 60's , from Lewington's in London - box has Florida address, big full sound, edge if needed. With cap, lig and box.   Currently my 'more mellow' favourite......  Again, you could always try making me an offer that I couldn't refuse ?   Someone did...
Rico Royal  B7 - plastic	As new. Original box, polished surface finish,  Great Value !
Rico Royal  M11 - 'Metalite' grey	Open .125" lay. high baffle.  As new, boxed.  Cult following, discontinued.
Runyon - Red, translucent	Well used, may be missing ring at end of shank ?
Wagner / Wolf Tayne (?) (name rubbed off)  3 - vintage ebonite .                                   Click on the picture for more pics...	Normal use & discoloration of ebonite, thin rails, quality, custom lig. The lig is definitely a Wagner, and the body has both Wagner and Wolf Tayne similarities (research continuing)

	Martin Magna alto ! The Walton - adjustable baffle alto mouthpiece	In slightly scruffy original box, with four interchangeable screw-in baffles. Not a novelty, this is a very playable mouthpiece, marked .080"
Weltklang - ebonite ?	Nice sound, decent rails, and very subtle baffle, plus small bullet chamber.

Please feel free to contact me for further info and/or pictures if required.  Please ensure that any items are suitable for your requirements and that your offer reflects your own assessment of the items value. I do try and honestly describe items to the best of my knowledge and ability.

International offers are always very welcome, you can pay with Paypal payments in UK Pounds, or direct Bank Transfer. If payment is made through Paypal with a credit card, I reserve the right to ship only after the payment has been transferred from Paypal into my UK bank account.   Transfer direct to my Bank Account is another option.

International buyers are responsible for any import duty and/or taxes payable to their Customs. Purchasers within the European Community will not usually be liable for any import duty and/or taxes.  Out-of-UK shipping costs will be higher, I will gladly 'guesstimate' - but please be aware that the exact cost may not be available until after the instrument has been properly packed.  The level of insurance ( if required ) may also involve more expensive shipping tariffs.  Wherever possible I will combine shipping costs on multiple items
